From February 21 to 22, Baxter Healthcare and Getz Healthcare Philippines participated in the Cervical Spine Cadaveric Workshop and Instructional Course Lectures at The Medical City, followed by a dinner symposium at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas. These activities marked the official launch of Baxter’s FLOSEAL in the Philippines.

FLOSEAL is an innovative hemostatic matrix designed to assist in surgical procedures where traditional methods, such as ligature, fail to effectively control bleeding. It is particularly useful in cases of both oozing and spurting bleeding, providing hemostasis in as little as 90 seconds.

The 2-day workshop at The Medical City saw over a hundred attendees, including orthopedic spine and non-spine consultants, residents, and neurosurgical professionals from both local and international backgrounds.

Baxter’s leadership team, including Ruth Smith (Clinical Training Manager for Advanced Surgery, APAC Region), Alys Lee (Marketing Manager for Advanced Surgery, Southeast Asia), and distinguished foreign delegates like Dr. Yasutsugu Yukawa (Japan), Dr. Byung Ho and Dr. Cheol Wung Park (Korea), and Dr. Gabriel Liu and Dr. Huan Yilun (Singapore), also attended the event and engaged with local healthcare professionals.

The evening of February 22 featured a dinner symposium titled “Value Beyond Hemostasis,” with keynote speaker Dr. Huang Yilun, an orthopedic surgeon from Singapore, discussing "Effective Bleed Management." Dr. Raghavendra Mayya, Asia Pacific Medical Affairs Director at Baxter Healthcare, presented on "Value Beyond Hemostasis." The session was moderated by Dr. Jose Miguel Marco Lumawig, an orthopedic surgeon from The Medical City and St. Luke’s Global City.

The event concluded with the much-anticipated product reveal of FLOSEAL.
