We were honored to be a part of UP-PGH Division of Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program 50th Anniversary celebration, which was held at the Manila Polo Club on the 22nd of July 2023. The event was attended by renowned surgeons in the country.
The UP-PGH Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program was started by Dr. Ponicano D. Manalo in 1973, who was then Chief of the Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the UP-PGH Medical Center. The training program was patterned after the straight residency training programs in the United States, consisting then of two years of general surgery followed by two years of Plastic Surgery training.
